Under Construction

Before:
Since my final assignment is on planes, a sort of "journy" through the airport and the take off prosses should work. Pictures of the people sitting at the gate and mulling about, the plane refueling and the gate agents checking people in. Then I could get the jetway and the pilot, my mom, walking down it. Pictures of the aisle and the seats and the people putting away luggage, and pictures of the captian in the cockpit. Also the people going down the jetway and getting their tickets checked at the gate. The front of the plane with no jetway attached and the door closed, and the plane taxiing from the gate. Also pictures of it on the runway and takeing off

Good News:
No purple hearts, both rolls survived

Night Assignment Journal

Before:
For this assignment, I think I will shoot things in the outdoors. Things like an empty tramp pit or my back stairwell should lead to some interesting conclusions. I also might head down to the country club and take pictures there of the closed pool or the clubhouse in the dark. Also trees lit up in a night sky should prove a great picture. I will have to bracket these photos to get even close to the right time due to a lack of experience in this type of shooting.
After:
1: I underexposed about 1/3 of my reel due to a reading error on the sheet on my part
2: Could have done a bit less bracketing on the pictures to make more
3: All-in-all the pictures I did have made for a great series for this assignment
4: The pictures turned out great after printing, no dust I could see and they look in focus, as much as I can see.
5: Some of my better work was seen in this assignment

Observation Assignment

The following four posts are the scenes and people I observed for this assignment. Look, it's even on time!

Person #2

This person is sitting on a bench. He looks like he is 14 or 15. His face is more of an eclipse-like shape. He is also on the thin side, not too much meat on him. I can’t tell how tall he is from this position. He has long brown hair, reaching his neck and covering his ears. He also has glasses. He looks more on the intelligent side, not on the brawny side. He is wearing a blue shirt, black sweatpants and dirty black shoes with white laces. He is sitting with a rather vacant look on his face, like he is thinking. His skin is a bit tanner than the people sitting around him.

Person #1

She sits at a table with a look of frustration on her face. She is no more than 12. She has medium brown hair which falls down to her shoulders. Her face is rather round and full. She has striking light blue eyes reminiscent of her grandfathers. When standing, she rises to about a 5’ 2”. She is more of a narrow thing, not much fat on her at all. She walks with an average gait and just a hint of a commanding presence, but today she looks tired and weary from a weekend full of water-polo. She is wearing a bright orange jacket, a green Girl Scout shirt, and jeans. She is very arguable. She is studing math and is constantly saying her way is right when it isn't.

Los Perritos

I walk into my kitchen to see a familiar sight. There is a large picture window providing ample afternoon sunlight. The resultant radiant heat appears to create a perfect atmosphere for napping canines. Adding to this sonorous environment, a thickly padded bench is conveniently situated beneath the window. The dogs seem to gravitate towards this sleep inducing platform numerous times throughout the day. Even though they seem to be in a coma-like slumber, I know for a fact at the slightest disturbance, they can launch themselves of their makeshift bed at full speed. The common alignment of said dogs on the bench appears to be constantly changing with no set order. I find them in varied positions throughout the day. They can be curled up like a doughnut or sprawled out at full length. This calm serine setting invites one to pet them, or just join them for a nap.

My Breakfast at the Local Greasy Spoon

I sit down and order the steak and eggs special from a waitress who compliments the 1970's vintage Formica tabletop. The meal is delivered upon a large white plate rimmed with two brown rings. The top third of the display consists of a small, disorganized pile of pan-fried potatoes. The thin slices are white in the middle, with a hard brown edge. On the bottom-left third of the plate, two eggs lay side-by-side. They are cooked over-easy and shine with an abundant layer of grease. The succulent golden yolk is barely visible below a thin cover of egg. A small portion is lapping over the edge. Positioned next to the eggs resides the main part of the meal. A petite 6 oz. serving of top sirloin cooked to a pink-medium captures my immediate attention. The steak rests on a small puddle of liquid attesting to its juiciness. A common serrated steak knife has been courteously slipped under the steak. Enough description, it's time to eat.
